The National Congress of Black Women, Inc. - Kansas City Chapter (NCBW-KC) will host its 6th Annual Awards and Scholarships Black Tie Gala on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Delta Athenaeum, 900 E. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, Mo. 64109. This year’s theme is Reaching Milestones: Empowering One Woman at A Time as we will celebrate surpassing 5 years as a not for profit organization. The gala will be hosted by Rae Daniel, KSHB 41Action News Reporter.  The awards dinner will also honor public servants, community members and organizations for their dedicated service.  The chapter will honor Attorney Arimeta DuPree, Esq.Ms. Jumesha Wade and Ms. Yolanda Robinson.  Guests will enjoy an evening of delectable dishes, an elegant awards ceremony and sensational music. The evening will begin with a silent auction and complimentary cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. The attire is formal and valet parking will be available.  DJ Q from 9pm-11pm.  The Awards and Scholarship Gala is a ticketed event and eligible purchases will be tax deductible.  NCBW-KC is a federal and state 501 (c) 3 Tax Exempt Organization. Complimentary Valet Parking available.

We are honored to have Kansas City’s own, author, speaker, business strategist and motivational powerhouse, Marquita Miller-Joshua, as our keynote speaker.  She is the Founder and CEO of Five Star Tax and Business Solutions (a full-service accounting firm in Kansas City, Missouri). Each year the gala awards scholarships to two deserving students from under-served communities in Kansas City, Missouri. One scholarship will be awarded to an adult student continuing their education and the other to a traditional high school senior. Our scholarship recipients are Phoenix Smith of Oak Park High School (MO) and Shawntae Baldwin of Park University.  Please support us once again in awarding college scholarships to students of our community as they embark on their journey to bring their dreams to reality.  Proceeds also allow NCBW to continue providing local programming to the community at no cost.
